15 July 2024 (World Business UK) — The innovative Grafit Holding, founded in the Republic of Moldova over 20 years ago in 2003, continues to expand its horizons on the international stage. Recently, the company announced the upcoming opening of a new office in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina.
This marks the sixth country worldwide, including Germany, Switzerland, the USA, the Philippines, and Bulgaria, where Grafit is establishing an official presence. The company’s headquarters is located in Chișinău, the capital of Moldova.
“The office in Argentina will focus on business development in the North and South American regions. It is planned to include a fully functional IT department, a customer and partner service center, and a logistics hub”, said Mr. Serghei Suruceanu, the founder of Grafit Holding.
“It is important to note that the significant growth in the holding’s activity has become possible in recent years. Grafit Holding’s IT companies are residents of Moldova IT Park and members of the National Association of ICT Companies (ATIC)”, Mr. Suruceanu emphasized.
Currently, the holding comprises 20 multinational companies employing around 550 highly skilled professionals. The holding collaborates with over 300,000 clients from 85 countries, including all EU countries, the USA, Canada, Japan, South American and Central Asian countries, the UAE, and Turkey. Significant attention is given to developing strategic partnerships with major global e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and eBay.
Mr. Suruceanu also shared the company’s strategic plans: “We intend to increase the number of countries with Grafit Holding offices. Over the next 2-3 years, we plan to increase our staff from 550 to 750 employees and, within a decade, grow it to 2,500 highly qualified specialists”.
The holding’s business model is focused on developing innovative services using a unique IT system, a kind of “neural network,” which allows for real-time business connections between sellers and buyers of niche products. The product range includes car parts, children’s toys, office equipment, bicycles and scooters, specialized construction equipment, audio equipment, and more.
Alexandru Averbuh, the General Director of TelecomServis, Grafit Holding’s IT-company, emphasized the importance of the Moldovan office: “Chișinău is the ‘innovation heart’ of the Holding. For over 12 years, a team of top-notch IT specialists, information system managers, cloud computing experts, cybersecurity experts, and others have been developing a software complex that has no analogs in the world. And this is not a metaphor!”.
Mr. Averbuh also noted: “We plan to create a full-fledged neural network using AI systems, which will enable almost fully automated order processing and tracking of the holding’s international trade processes. This will also allow for an automated communication process with our partners and clients”.
International Holding Grafit was founded in 2003 by Moldovan entrepreneurs as an innovative startup and showed unprecedented growth potential in terms of client reach, partners, and territorial representations within its first years.
Today, the holding includes over 20 specialized companies, among them Sovamax and Sovamax USA, Eminia, MTeam, RA Trading, Horus Trading, DBR Trading, and others.
Grafit Holding pays particular attention to developing business processes in the European Union countries, where it currently has a wide distribution network of about 20,000 partners, including official car dealers, resellers, service centers, wholesale and retail trade centers, and online stores.
The holding owns automated warehouses in Dortmund (Germany) and Chicago (USA). The sales process is carried out through a unique in-house developed online system, which ensures order processing and tracking of international trade processes. Annually, the project management team, using Grafit’s IT system, processes and sells over 1.4 million products. The total number of product items included in the holding’s IT system database already exceeds 15 million across various categories.
